While attempting to set up the Brother machine on a wireless network, you may see a screen requesting a WPS PIN to complete the setup. This typically occurs if Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on your machine and you attempt to add a Wi-Fi Direct connection using Printers and Scanners in. The Brother MFC-L2717DW is a reliable, affordable monochrome laser all-in-one with an up to 50-page automatic document feeder for home or small office use. This desk-friendly, compact all-in-one has an up to 250-sheet capacity tray, connects with ease via wireless networking or Ethernet, and prints and copies at up to 34ppm‡.
Today I was pissed off. My Brother Laser printer had run out of Toner, right when I desperately needed to print something off. It always happens at the worst of times. No worries, I had a extra one for this very moment. It's always good to be prepar- Oh shit. Well I guess it doesn't work.
A grueling 4 fucking hours of the NATO alphabet and 'I ALREADY DID THAT's later and they cracked. They saw that I had fortified my defenses, that I was ready for the long haul. I was not going to concede and give in to their devious plan. I was not going to shell out another $70 god damn dollars for a hunk of plastic with ink in it. No. I didn't care how long it was gonna take. I was getting that fucking code.
I knew about the code. Other versions of it have been leaked before but never for this model, the flagship of their monochrome laser printers. I knew a code existed and I wanted that shit. And as luck would have it my ability to not break down into a flurry of curses and threats at the unhelpful indian man prevailed, I was given the code. As soon as they gave it to me I wrote it down, and now I'm posting this 10 minutes later. So here, my friends and brothers, reset your Brother MFC-L2710DW toner to your heart's desire. Your violation of the user terms of service is all of the reward I need.
THE STEPS TO RESET YOUR BROTHER MFC-L2710DW TONER CARTRIDGE
This is an incredibly simple process and can be done in less than a minute. Never ending legacy mods. So it makes sense that I had to wait 4 fucking hours to learn it.
- Open front door of printer (to reveal the cartridge mechanism) and 'Front Door Open' will flash on the monitor. Good.
- Next, press STOP/EXIT and CLEAR at the SAME TIME(quick press)
- Immediately after, press CLEAR once again.
- A menu called RESET MENU will appear.
- Click the DOWN ARROW until you see TNR-STD
- Click OKAY
- Click UP ARROW To Confirm the reset.

Standard paper handling starts with a 250-sheet tray and a single-sheet manual bypass. There are no optional paper trays. Both trays handle up to legal-sized (8.5″ x 14″) paper. The output capacity is 100 sheets (face down). There is also a 50-sheet automatic document feeder that supports standard duplexing.
The maximum monthly duty cycle is 15,000 pages, but Brother recommends printing up to 2,000 pages per month.
